MIX was asked to redesign the commercial zone hidden below Cordis Hotel in the Hongqiao District of Shanghai. The challenge was to create a striking front door that would help identify the project from varous levels and directions. The Blade Pylon visually anchors the plaza it faces and marks the entry for both Hotel and retail zone. The interior strategy was to bring the Hotel language down into the basement with custom signature lighting elements to illuminate the space. A back lit perforated retail wall and sculptural feature column provide a luminous backdrop to the unique experience at The Hub.
