As the premier commercial address in Beijing since 1985, China World Trade Center has been reconceived by MIX to re-energize the campus and maintain it as the premier destination in Beijing for the next 30 years. The new iconic centerpiece is “The Bosque” which creates a unifying connectivity to CWTC’s expansive site. The Bosque transforms the heart of the campus into a vibrant, civic and memorable new experience through its variety of interconnected indoor and outdoor spaces.

Bold tree pylons establish visual linkages for pedestrian axes and create a sense of orientation and place. New landscape and outdoor terraces invert the typical internal focused nature of commercial projects. Outdoor event spaces provide the capacity for CWTC to host a broad array of large public or private events. The large, iconic aperture in the landscape roof creates a sense of openness and light, and serves as a window into the project from the surrounding towers. The ice rink, connective ramp and stepped terraces all add to the variety of experiences which collectively establish a vital new central core for CWTC.
